It’s that time of year where we are polishing our googly eyes and untangling our marionette strings. We are back in full force for the Festival of Animated Objects.
February 5, we are excited to reveal to you the official Festival of Animated Objects 2023 lineup.
Then, get a taste for the full adventure by starting with SNAFU + Ingrid Hansen’s Epidermis Circus: a spicy puppetry cabaret celebrating the fragile meatbag of the human form. All while fundraising for your favourite puppet and mask fest (it's us).
“Imagine Shari Lewis’s soul got possessed by David Lynch. Hansen employs technology and video projection to provocative, cinematic effect, incorporating weird objects, apocalyptic imagery, and the occasional erotic frisson. ★★★★★” - Winnipeg Free Press
On television, Ingrid puppeteers for the Jim Henson Company and Sesame. On stage, she creates puppet characters with nothing but her hands, found objects, mirrors and camera illusions. Epidermis Circus is a spicy puppetry cabaret, where the guests are different parts of the human body, like sassy grandma Florence McFingernails, and standup comedian Lenny the Boob.
“HILARIOUS. Absurd and profoundly human.” - Star Phoenix.
Rated 13+ sexual content.
